Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Is my treatment covered under insurance? What if I want a Pilates workout? Is that covered?

As a registered physiotherapist, all treatment sessions provided by Ellen may be eligible for coverage under third party insurance providers. However, please be sure to check your benefit plan for exact coverage details .

As mandated by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, physiotherapists must ensure that treatments are planned out with a specific aim in mind. Unfocused ‘workouts’ with no identified goal are not considered physiotherapy.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept multiple forms of payment including:

  • Visa/MasterCard/Amex

  • Debit card

  • Cash

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay

  • Interac E-transfer

Do you provide direct billing?

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to participate in direct billing. All treatments must be paid for up front and a receipt will be given to you to submit to your insurer.

Do I need a doctor’s prescription?

No, a doctor’s prescription is not required. However, if you have been provided with a diagnosis or have any imaging results or surgical notes those are always helpful when conducting an assessment. Further, some health insurance providers require a doctor’s prescription dated prior to the first physiotherapy visit. Be sure to check your plan details.

Do you offer group Pilates classes?

Although group classes are not available at this time, semi-private treatment sessions may be an appropriate option for you and a friend/family member.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow for hands-on access to the area(s) of concern for your first appointment. Still not sure? just ask!
