Optimize your core and pelvic floor before, during, and after pregnancy.

This client’s scar was 15 years old by the time he came to me. After just one session I was able to make noticeable improvements in scar mobility, bowel function and abdominal/digestive pains!

Before and after just one scar release treatment.

MPS Scar Release Therapy

Do you have a C-section scar that could use some help? Untreated abdominal scars have potential to restrict movement, cause back pain, entrap nerves leading to numbness in the perineum, interfere with digestion, and negatively impact fertility.

Ellen is beyond thrilled to integrate Microcurrent Point Stimulation into her treatment approach. This device can improve scar tissue pain and reduce adhesions in as little as one session.

Each application is combined with post-treatment myofasical release and carefully selected fascial mobilization exercises for maximum effectiveness. Ellen has successfully treated scars as old as 50 years old!

Please note this treatment is not safe for pregnant individuals nor those with cardiac pacemakers or other implanted electrical devices.

“Taking care of yourself after having a baby is tough. There isn’t a lot of time to care for yourself with a tiny new human depending on you. Not to mention that no one really tells you that there are ways to help with those post Partum body aches and pains. Working with Ellen has been the perfect combination of hands on manual release and active recovery through Pilates. The fact that I can bring my baby with me is the icing on the cake!!  I wouldn’t be able to take the time to focus on my PostPartum recovery if I wasn’t able to bring my little guy with me. Ellen is an expert physio and mom so you and your babe are in great hands. “

Treatment Tools

Pilates-based Physio

Pilates as a standalone activity can be a great tool in helping your body stay strong and healthy. Combined with physiotherapy, however, it can be individualized to yield even better results for someone with an injury. As a physio and trained Pilates instructor, Ellen is able to enhance and modify Pilates techniques for maximum efficiency. And it’s fun!

Ortho-Pelvic PT & Manual Therapy

A skilled set of hands can sense restrictions in different types of tissues in our bodies including muscle tone, joints, and fascia. For this reason, Ellen’s favourite tools are her hands. From Myofascial release to soft tissue cupping, Ellen has at her disposal several techniques to restore movement and reduce pain.

Acupuncture

In the context of physiotherapy, acupuncture as well as dry needling have become increasingly popular - and for very good reason. As an adjunct, these methods assist in improving circulation, relieving tension, and upregulation or downregulation of nervous activity.

Right from the first session, I knew I was working with a skilled and caring professional. The physical therapy Ellen provides has been truly effective. Her use of Pilates as a tool in strength and mobility training is amazing, going beyond what I have experienced in treatment from other physiotherapists. I highly recommend Ellen for all who need physical therapy.
